Description
Who said that Fender had lost its sense of imagination? Well, for thosein doubt, the Fender Acoustasonic Tele issomething that definitely breaks the mould.Innovative and elegant, this instrument is essentially an electric/acoustic hybrid guitar – built for modern musicians looking for the ultimate expressive tool.
Although the Acoustasonic is based on the classic Tele shape, you’ll soon realise thatalmost every other aspect of this uniqueguitar goesagainst Fender’s grain. Powered by a revolutionary Fender and Fishman-designed acoustic engine, this instrument allows you toeffortlessly change from convincing acoustic soundsto traditional electric rhythm tones on-the-fly.
Full Hollow Body
The most striking aesthetic feature of the Fender Acoustasonic Tele is itssoundhole, placed at the centre of thebody. Whereas as otherhybrids before have tendedto be more in-keeping with the looksof an electric guitar, the Acoustasonic, however, embraces more of the traditional acoustic construction.
With a full hollow body crafted from Mahogany, you can expect rich lows and a bell-likemid-range. Using Fender’s ‘Stringed Instrument Resonance System’ (SIRS), this design helps theAcoustasonic Tele to achievethe response and harmonic breadth of a typical acoustic guitar, where you can feelthe vibrations resonating through your body.
Unlike most acoustics and the standard Telecaster though, Fenderkept playing comfort in mind when designing the Acoustasonic Tele.Addinga comfortable forearm contour, this allows you to strum chords without feeling any pain or fatigue, making it a great live workhorse. Despite the body being hollow, the thin and compact Tele shape remains intact, meaning that electric players will feel particularly at home on this guitar.
Satin-Finished Mahogany Neck
The Acoustasonic’s body is paired with a bolt-on Mahogany neck, adding even more tonal depth. Covered in a smooth open-pore Satin Urethane finish and cut to Fender’s Modern “Deep C’ profile, the playability of this guitar is simply outstanding.
Adorned with a sleek Ebony fingerboard, this material ensures a slippery feel while adding some pristine top-end bite. Fitted withnarrow tall frets, these are more akin to the type of frets you’d expect to find on most acoustics. But to keep electric players happy, Fender has ensured that the Acoustasonic Tele has 22 frets, with a sculpted heel providing excellent access to the high register.
Electronics & Hardware
Using an electro-acoustic guitaronstage has its issues, where feedbackcan potentially ruin a set. That’s why Fender has sought to eliminatethat common problemwith the Acoustasonic, utilising its smaller body shapeandFender/Fishman-designed acoustic engine to cut out unwanted noise.
The acoustic engine is aproprietary blend of classic analogue and future technologies, optimisingthe guitars natural sound andmodifyingthe resonance to deliver a curated collection of voices. These acoustic and electric voices can be used independently, or blended via the ‘Mod Knob’ to create experimental sounds. However, they can also be used simultaneously thankstoFender’s Acoustasonic Noiselessmagnetic pickup.
The Fender Acoustasonic Tele’s asymmetrical bridge is intonated for optimalbalance across the fingerboard, with the high-quality Graph TechTUSQ pins and nut keeping your tuningrock-solid. It’s also worth noting that the Acoustasoniccomes with a Deluxe Gig Bag, letting you easily transport itfrom venue-to-venue.
